does any 1 know if it is possible to connect an exteral harddrive to the home hub so we can access our music and videos etc

Yes is your answer.
Has two RJ45 slots for wired in connections. You will need to use one of those. Alternatively, you can use a file server.
If you are connecting through wireless the file transfer will be relatively slow but fast enough to stream.

If you have a normal usb hard drive then it won't fit in the rj45 slots.

The USB A port has been used by others to connect an external hard drive, but you are correct, the drive needs to formatted FAT 32 with a maximum partition size of (I think) 20 Gig

Used to connect the hub to the pc.
Think you will need a network external Hard Drive. They don't cost much more to be honest.
Another solution is to plug the external HD into a PC and then share the drive. That PC will need to be on in which to access the drive wirelessly.

where online can you get an external drive that you can connect to a router? as i cant find much on ebuyer.
i saw one in maplin a few weeks ago that you could plug a printer into aswell, but cant find it now
