Right, my dilemma is this. For the past 2 yrs and 3 months i've owned a 1.4 16v 5 door CDX corsa, and i've hated it. I hate having 5 doors now and just generally don't enjoy using it. The only good thing is that its lasted me this long and given me 2 yrs more NCB.
My loan which i got to get the car (2k) runs out in october, i have £810 left to pay on it. I've spoke to my dad and explained how much i hate driving it and that i want a new car so we've spoke about my options, the best option we worked out is this;
Dad pays off the £810 left on my loan, I sell my car or part ex it with a garage and get the 800 from that to pay him back, and I get a 5k loan out to get a new car. I've gone with 5k as thats what i can get and live comfortably and still go out when i want and save for my travelling in the summer.
So my dilemma is what car do i get for 5k, I want something fast (obviously i'm not going to get anything mega fast) and also new (00+) which is quite sporty as i'm not massively into modding cars, although i will be buying an exhaust system, lowering and alloys no doubt. I'm just not interested in big mods as i don't know enough about the cars to do it
Insurance isn't to much of a deal as i'm 22 with 4yrs NCB. I've just done a quote for a Clio 172 with my insurance company (Direct Line) and they quoted me £550 which is what i paid for my corsa last year.
The only cars I can currently think about within my budget (I could probablly stretch to 5.5-6k) are:
Clio 172
Ibiza Cupra (possible Cupra R?)
Astra SRi
Has anyone got any other viable options? I understand the Astra is the slowest there but for some reason i like how they look and can look smart with subtle mods.
I do about 30 miles a day on average so i don't do a massive amount of mileage in a year either.
** oh also for smart people who comment about another thread, i tried using search but we all know how useful the search function is
Thanks, Adam!

Get a 172 mate, I had a Cup and loved it, will probably get another this year.
I'd avoid the Sri, I have a Coupe and the 172 and Cupra are in a different league.
106 gti, Lupo gti??

Yeh 172 is the one in the lead at the moment, i just like how they look and are nippy aswell, would love one in black or silver.
Dont like the lupo gti's, i associate them with girls for somereason 106 GTi could be a possibility aswell yeh.
I like the Cupras alot but not keen on the new shapes/models. I'd preferably like a Cupra R but not sure if its in my price range and the IG

Did think of a Golf colin, but are they as fast as 172s/Cupras? I suppose at least it would be solid being a Vag

I'd probably go for the Ibiza Cupra. See alot of them on the internet but never see them on the road. Look smart with some decent wheels and lowered.

172 cup, Necromancer's sister owns one, and as standard it looks nice and sounds nice, they only really need performance backbox to get rid of the peashooters I reckon.

They don't have a peashooter on show, backbox is hidden.
My Old one.
