Just been in ASDA and they have Sat Navs for £79.99! Full UK and ROI mapping, with Post Code finder. The actual Sat Nav unit showed speed and things like that. No mention of speed camera finders and/or updates.
What I want to know is, is there a disadvantage performance wise in buying cheaper Sat Navs (I know it won't be packed full of features, but that is not what I need) i.e. the strength of the signal they pick up? How quick they perform and so on?
I've never felt the need for a Sat Nav, but have some money spare from Christmas, and would quite like one, for the times I go places and don't know where I'm going (which isn't often). Therefore I don't want to spend £300 on one.
But then didn't want to buy one for £79.99 that will be shockingly slow and not do the job?!
Cheers

you get what you pay for.
Think about stuff like updates and support, I'd go for a cheap tomtom personally.

How much support do you need with Sat Navs?
This update business? Do some Sat Nav's come with free updates then?

Looks pretty good that.
Wonder if the £30 difference is worth it - I quite like the idea of the MapShare business.
Do you have to pay for updates with TomTom?

I think you pay for updates with all Satnav, but dont hold me to that. Good thing about the TomToms is that you can dowloads all the fixed Speed Camera positions and Hotspots for the UK
