First of all, opinions on this flat: http://r.foxtons.co.uk/1190995487/chpk0236023-ss.pdf
Secondly:
How long does it take to sort a mortgage? I really like this place but haven't had any mortgage quotes or anything yet, i'd imagine this place will get snapped up pretty quickly.

Most places will quote 4-6 weeks. You can express an interest quicker than that though.

You need to take your last 3 pay slips to prove your income.
The broker/estate agent can then give you a document/certificate which states that you are able to borrow a certain amount of money.
This lets you look at property's and put offers in at a price you can afford without actually having a mortgage lined up.
This is what i did anyway

£160k for a one bedroom flat
You can get a decent 3/4 bedroom house around here for that

Looking at the room sizes, it's tiny.
Regarding the mortgage, go and see an independant advisor. Most give free consultations and won't mind explaining it from scratch what happens.

I don't think it's tiny? It's one of the most spacious places i've seen round here in that price range.

Have you looked around the place James?
If so, and you like it then go see a mortgage advisor and get it bought!

No I haven't, I just meant based on the room dimensions, it's got the biggest rooms out of most places i've seen round here at that price.
