everything ive ever known has just been changed!.

wide grip does middle back, close grip focusses on the lats!
for the last 5-6years, ive always believed it to be the other way around (and so have a lot of other people)
but its wrong.

just thought i would inform you all

Makes sense I suppose as the further out your arms the more tense the middle of your back will become.

where did you learn this? Did Johnboy down the gym tell you, that he read from mens health?

Ask any bodybuilder and they will say width will come from wide grip pull ups, bb rows etc. Think about it, hands wide apart making you wider and stretching the muscle more.

yes Johnboy....

quote Dorian Yates - "A very wide grip does stretch the shoulder girdle out significantly, which widens the shoulders, but a very close grip blasts the outer lats and stretches the actual muscle like nothing else"

sorry adz,but FAIL

That says very wide, which to me indicates more than wide ie hyper wide. If you hold your arms out narrow wide then even wider it kind of shifts teh plane of movemeent. That kind of makes sense to me a bit!

Until I see where the quotes from I won't believe it, yes Dorian is a prime example of a Class A bodybuilder and he proves he knows his shit, but i'm skeptical unless its from a solid source/interview. Not just something someone on another forum has said he said.

I'm not saying your wrong csweatherston, as Dorian knows his shit, i just wanted to know if you heard it from some guy down the gym whose 11 stone and happened to read it a magazine
