Just went to play cod4 online and as it was starting a match it just froze,turned it off and on and it made a strage noise thru the tv and froze again,now just keeps getting to the first xbox 360 sphere thing and freezing
just left it for 10 mins and stood it vertical and started and managed to get into a agame then it did the same thing again,something to do with the laser maybe?what does the red ring of death mean?its overheated?

3 light of death is the overheating.

well the 3 lights have come on before as the machine never works the first time you turn it on,you have to turn it on,turn it off and then turn it on again then it will get signal,and its freezing but with no red lights,tho 3 have come on on several occasions

all xbox's have a warranty covering overheating/three red lights, so i wouldn't panic.
it sounds like the board has warped and the chip popped its solders, ring microsoft
