I have 6 cats, we go through 9 boxes of cat food a week and 6 bags of cat litter

Works out at a tenner a week, then a tenner pet insurance = £50 a month

Plus jabs etc annually

None of my cats are fat either

I'd like a dog, how much do they cost to keep?

My mum's got a choc lab puppy. Their insurance is £4.50 a month for him or something like that, and he eats his way through I think (not certain) £10 of food (the good stuff, not Morrisons battyboi or what not) a week + the time you have to spend training them, cleraning up after them and walking them, they are a big responsibility over cats

edit - ive jsut text my dad and hopefully he will get back to me, will post when he does

6 cats Fuck that!

Only thing thats stopping me buying a dog is that I work all day, leave the house at 7ish & return 5ish - no dog should be left indoors all day especially a puppy.

I'm with Colin on this subject. I leave the house at 7.30 and return at 19.00, it wouldn't be fair to a dog leaving it on it's own for that length of time. Come weekends i'm not at home either.

my GSD costs £14 insurance, and has to have hypoallergenic dog food which is £40 a 15kg bag, shes goes threw one a month plus treats. as its a working dog breed, need excercise, so i walk her thre times a day, at least 20 mins a time usualy more., so £60 plus time and effort, training class is over a tenner a month too.

i wish nobody would be a dog, in act i will talk anybody out of buying a dog, and if i cant then you are mad. unless you love them to bits and can dedicate time and love, for 15+ years, dont bother. dogs are worse than kids, kids become independant, dogs will always rely on you. and i hate seeing stray dogs and dogs in kennel because people are generally useless

So true

I want another lab so much, but the flat just isn't big enough for one.
I think we're going to get a beagle at some point though...

Look at his tiny hand hahaha

On a serious note I dont think I will ever get a dog, not for the next 10/20 years, too much work plus they fuck up the inside of your house, dog smell everywhere and if you dont train them properly they mark 'their' terrirory by pissing everywhere
