Would look better if the first floor was the full length and not just the bedrooms and bathooms though. As soon as I saw that neighbour I knew he had to be a doctor! You just know its science and not gp too!

Maybe they could only get planning consent for the half size upper floor? They said something about height restrictions, but I would have thought that would be for any floor, not any floor over a certain size

Yeah, you'd think full floor would have been more pleasing to the eye.

I've just looked on the Grand Designs website, I don't think 'pleasing to the eye' is really a concern, with what they've got on the roof

Didn't cost £600k it cost £330k; the £600k figure was the debt they amassed whilst still owing the mortgage on the other property; once that sold it was down to only owing a £110k mortgage; for a house which would clearly be worth £450k+

Worst thing about the house, which really spoilt it for me were the stupid £3k each cooker hood "chandelliers" (sp)

They looked shit, didn't go with the idea of the house and would be a nightmare to clean all ocvered in grease and fat

I know, I typed it when they first mentioned the figure, not when they explained it all later on in the show

The wall is listed, have they knocked it down only to rebuild it later?

Certain parts of it I liked. Loved the stone walls and also loved the copper roof, the lounge space was fairly nice too in that shape with the exposed wood.

The general design I didnt like too much though...and just wonder what else he could of built for £950k on a decent plot of land!!

Was that the guy who was obsessed with decagons? That house was cool, but not very cosy or homely. Bit too cold for my liking.

I like the fact that he dug and lined a hole to keep the water out, then it flooded and he looked perplexed Moron.
