no milkyness in oil cap no loss of water or oil in water, my sump is defo leaking but i think its only the gasket its nt missing when driving but theres a slight miss on idle and the white ploom my dad was on about and the running rich is quite worrying

Running rich could be a different fault. Any ECU lights?

i defo have oil leak, i dont think its head gasket as i have no milkyness or loss of water, my 1.2 8v head gasket went with all the symptoms but this is diff piston rings is normally blue smoke isn't it? would it run rich if piston rings are gone?

headgasket = miss fire on start up, white smoke, and if its blown across a oil water it will burn oil too
piston rings - smoke at high end revs tyically blue/ grey/ white
how much oil is it loosing?

Have you checked under the car for oil puddles? Or is it just burning it?

Once the car cools down the oil will thicken up, so the puddle on your drive is only from when it's just been parked there. The oil could be leaking whilst your driving. Replace the sump gasket and O ring gasket if I were you, an oil leak could be your whole problem.

Why can't you just jack it up and replace it? Not hard at all to do the O ring, as you are losing oil anyway it won't take long to drain it, whilst you're at it could do the filter too

And trust me engine changes suck.
I can't see the manifold being the way though. Oil changes take me 20 mins max, I'm sure you can find the time.
