My mate read in the paper that without Torres and Gerrard Liverpools other players would struggle to get in to one of the other top 4 teams as theres no other prolific goal scorers.
Anyone else read this?

A few of them would IMO...Mascherano, Alonso, Reina would certainly be pushing. Carra possibly (certainly at Arsenal and Chelsea ATM). Babel would in the future but not at the moment, same for Lucas and Agger.
As for the rest, probably right, but the same could be said for a lot of the players at the other clubs aswell.

COSMO IN REALISTIC LIVERPOOL POST SHOCKER
agree with you there though cosmo, except maybe alonso. good player but isn't gonna push the lives of fabregas, scholes or lampard out of the team

Carragher would, some maybe in the future but id go along with that. Torres and Gerrard are world class though! If you took Rooney and Ronaldo out of united it'd be roughly the same arguement

I forgot to add that you're none scoring players like the ones you've mentioned would easily get in yeah.
Attacking wise though Kuyt etc might struggle.

You've still got Tevez, Vidic, Carrick, Giggs etc that score quite a few. But point taken!

Yep, the rest of our attacking players are piss poor with the exception of Babel who is a developing player and Benayoun (who is shite but still scored 10goals this season!)

Carrick?! He hasnt scored this season has he?
And how many has Vidic and Giggs scored? As Hyypia has scored 3, Babel 9 and Benayoun 10.

Alonso is amazing when he is fit. He is easily our best central midfield player IMO and a lot of fans would have him in the middle ahead of Gerrard.

Yeah, he has a better pass and vision then him IMO. Plus it allows Gerrard to have more of a free role which kind of helps the decision He is a great player, really really good. Thats why both Barca and Real are after him and have been for years now.

TBH take out the top 2 scorers in both sides and I would bet goals scored is fairly even.

Yeah, I think the comments regarding your players not being able to get in to other top teams was a little harsh!
