What's the minimum internet speed that can easily run xbox live using any games?
Tried looking it up but can't actually find anything concrete.

depends, to host, i;d say you need at least 10mb, and even that depends on game.
to just join, 512k is fine, obviously the more the better though

So basically anywhere in the world except the UK is good for hosting due to our shite network infrastructures

I've never had a problem hosting and I have 8mb.
Even when I had 1mb I had no probs hosting on Gears of War and PGR3.
