Good afternoon
As the title, replacing the gasket on my Corsa 1997 1.4 16v sport, X14XE. Question is do I need to use gasket sealant?

you will probs b best off using it i wud of thort al tho mine has none on but mines a smaller engine

Thanks, I thought you should, but with it being rubber I was worried about putting too much on and it sliding around when tightening the bolts.

i put plenty on mine never had a problem with it. dont think i even put a new gasket on.

In the end I didn't put any on, but I don't know if this why there is a slight weap from the front corner nearest the cambelt. I torqued the cover upto the stated settings of 6lb. I assume this is enough?

Doesnt sound like its mated correctly.
