Impulse buy last night, so now the iPod collection stands at 4
First impressions, are really really good. Nice features, fairly easy to use - but a couple of things are unclear/confusing me.
I have looked on the online manuals, but neither are spoken in depth really.
- Volume. I have the volume up to the highest setting, not only on the touch itself, but the preferences within itunes too. Its really quiet.
Can I override or adjust this. My classic iPod can be cranked right up, but this cant? Any ideas?
- Wi-fi/wireless internet connection. It recognises our wireless network at home and evern after putting the password in to log on, it refuses.
Do I need to enter ip address, router details etc?
TIA

apple are putting volume limiters on there new stuff, this maybe the first to have it, i believe there maybe a way of altering your firmware to get rid of this feature, have a look here www.ipodwizard.net
its really useful and i have used it to get the ipod touch menu on my ipod video, minus a few features

ive got a touch.. mines the 16gb version but should be the same as 8..
volume: if you look in settings there is a limiter in there, and also sound check
as for wireless connection passwords are case sensitive.. although it appears to be upper case it isnt, theres a little shift key to get caps

also about the volume thing. theres volums levels saved in the id3 tags.. if you have sound check on it standardises the volume of all the tracks

The router thing, on your router you may have to allow it to join either through MAC Address Filter or just by allowing a new device to access your network?
