Depends what engine is going in if your just replacing it with another x14xe or x16xe then yes you can use your ecu and loom and its pretty much a straight swap lift one out put new one in.

How many miles would the 1.6 give you to a tank?? Just want a essy as possible change as the corsa will be my run around!!
When changing the engine what all needs disconnected for the 1.4??
I havn't bought the car yet but the body work is mint and it is a tidy we corsa, only thing wrong is the engine is blown!! What should I look out for when going to buy it?? Think it has a full years MOT!!

its mainly engine u wanna look out for when u buy the car, but check the pillars to c if there cracked, urm rust under the arches, and all operational things like heaters indicators hazard switch, u get the idea,
but when changing the engine if your not to clued up on this,
take the engine out with the loom attached, disconnect at ecu end pull the loom through, then swap the whole loom over plug by plug, plu these engines are a nightmare to work on when theyve been fitted, so any work that needs doing to the new engine do it whilst its out, you will also need to use a 1.6 ecu and have the transponder that comes with the ecu,
the fuel comsumption on these engines are ok, some worst than others,
