Surely this will affect the market of people who want to buy it?

How shit

They cant possibly believe that the car is leaving the showroom at its full capabilities.

I would also think that all these restrictions will put people off buying one.

its a bit rediculous as most people who bought any previous gtr being the 32 33 or 34 usually modded them pretty quickly, because they responded so well to certain modifications.
Just seems like Nissan are a bit bitter about modifying

hhhmmm.

Im a bit dubious to the idea that it can not be modified in anyway shape of form in the context of performance parts.

i wonder what Nismo will do now then?

Like mentioned though, top secret etc have/will run rings around the on board 'security' guard.

to be fair though, why mod one? fast enough as they are and look fine.

r-34 still the best though IMO, this new one is more racing orientated but in terms of looks, i dont feel has the presence of an r-34.

i wonder why nissan have done this, thats the interesting point.

if its all about warrenty and worried people will break them by modding then i can see.

but maybe, nissan feels that it should only ever look as they have intended it too?

But this was common knowledge anyway. When i first read the GTR review it stated how Nissan had put loads of security on its software to stop the tunes getting to it. They were fedup of people tuning skylines to 700bhp odd and leaving standard brakes on which caused loads of serious accidents.

The software has loads of security built in. I fully expect the tuners to get around it (as said, I know the major companies already have their GTR cars and are working on them with mild performance parts), but they've got to get round the security of the standard computers, which isn't going to be easy.

But it will be done.

Also if I had that money I'd just buy an R34 or a 350z and play with that

"The new GT-R won’t allow custom exhausts either as any modification to the intake system causes the ECU to go haywire."

Its like on some VAGs if you tune them and you go over the orginal top speed or something it stores this and if you have any engine problems and they see log of it being stored your warranty is void.

But they can be cleared. not sure about the nissan's

Would be nice to think that they have made it as quick and perform as best as possible.

i.e. build it, test it, then remap it, so any after market remap wouldn't be necessary.

There are plenty of Americans, don't worry about that.
