may sound like a stupid question but it doesnt stop working if you dont update it does it?
i assume it just doesnt know about new ones.

no it will still work fine but if a new camera is put up after your subscription then it wont detect it.
Also if a camera is removed then your device will be telling you theres a camera when there isnt.

Its not too bad as you can add and delete them yourself.
