Don't know where to post this! Just found out i got a baby on the way and i need to sell my much loved corsa to save money!
Im lookin at buying a bike (125cc). I take it the 57 Plate ones from ebay for £1000 brand new are crap so im looking at either a DT or a KMX. Has anybody had either of these or can recommend something better, looking at spending £1000-£1200 really.

I know this is a corsa forum but its worth a shot hopefully for some advice not to have the piss ripped!

Na only rode a few back in the day, seen a race against a CR 125, RS 125 and another Aprilia RX 125....

RS was by far in way quicker, then again, as you say, not reliable - was a bit of a shitter

If y9our getting a scooter, your buying it for cheapness.

Don't get an RS125.

Get a scooter, im presuming its for going to work etc. Get a Gilera Runner VXR125. Its a 4 stroke 125cc scooter, will go on for miles and miles and miles and miles to a tank, cheap servicing etc.

as mentioned dont get an rs125 or a mito for that matter as you will be constantly rebuilding it.

it also depends what you want it for, i would consider a scooter for commuting etc as there easy to ride, manouver etc.

I thought about that, i used to have a Yamaha 100 moped, most reliable thing ever! It will be used to go to work and back, is a 4 stroke better on fuel than a 2 stroke?

Yes, and doesn't use a bottle of oil per tank either.

tbh if I was buyinga 125; I wouldn't buy a road type bike. Theres no point, 12 months-2 years down the line, you'll be wnating something more powerful. if you buy a crosser at least you could keep it and use it for its purpose and secondly a crosser is more marketable as both people wanting it for the road and for offroad would be interested

Cheaper, i like

Doing insurance quotes and mopeds are always cheaper on insurance too! Il look into one of them. Looking at the DNAs now, are there any other decent 125 mopeds?

The rs125 is 33bhp desertsicted. These bikes need alot of attention. If your out to save money stay away from this style of bike. Dont get a jap bike. Giliera' runner 125 is a cheap/safe choice

Would be i admit but the reason im getting it is for a cheap way to get back and to to work. Also how much are corsa c sxi alloys worth with 194/45 yokohomos on 2 and budgets on the other 2. Pretty good condition but not mint?

If your ever in south wales, drop me a u2u.

A guy i know has one replaced every part of his 125 with uprated parts, bored it to a 180.even has carbon fibre panels.

your 200cc vxr must be crap then,a vx125 can do 78mph standard.

No, they can't The 125's VXR's do about 70 tops. I know, I used to pass enough on the way to work. I work in London city, i'd see more scooters in a day than you see in a week

It was the 180cc Runners that were the quicker ones, but they are 2 stokes, and although accelerate faster, top end wise are slower.

I don't need to argue this, I have a proper bike now, not a plastic ped spinning on rubber dohnuts.

dont believe motorbike speedo's

80 mph on my old 125 was actuly 65 so god knows how fast 100 mph on a scooter is in reality.
