I was just wondering what sort of price people would pay for a corsa c sxi fitted with a astra vxr engine and gearbox? Not built one yet but i might be about to and wanted some idea on resale value.

Why would it be more of a pig than a Z20let?
The VXR lump runs ceramic coated pistons and oil spray jets etc so it ripe for tuning so you can run Z20let loom and get it running relitively easily.

Would be more interested in a Corsa D with Astra H VXR engine in.
C20XE worked in the B/Nova 'cause it was a similar age.
C20XE is a pig to get in the Corsa C is it not?
Then Z20LET in the C.
Astra VXR in D.
Just my opinion mind.

It's something to build for yourself tbh, maybe an on-going project
re-sale value will be about what the car is worth in standard form

most vauxhalls don't have great residual values, and if you were really that worried about losing money i don't think you'd be considering an engine swap.
definately a buyers market - i think most people would rather just buy an off the shelf astra vxr

No, it is a pig! You need everything! Engine, box, loom obv...but you also need the original stereo and the dials. As it runs a tec2 system, you NEED the radio and dials. The immobiliser is linked to the stereo too!
All the new vauxhalls have the same problem except for the lower-spec ones!
Atm theres no way round it, which is why the VXR engine in the classifieds comes with all this stuff!

the way i can see it done, is take the mian compoments and alll the wiring as in the whole lot, then it would work.
or if you had a friendly guy with a tech 2 system that can re-programme it then it shud be ok.
but im guessing.
would be cool thou. can you make a corsa c handle thou, ive drove a couple and didnt like it

How about you don't need everything?
Can you explain to me why there is an Astra coupe with a VXR lump using a standard Z20let loom and ecu?
Essentially the same engine with different internals, turbo and ecu?
If you cn fit a z20let into a Corsa C then a VXR Astra lump can be installed with a Z20let loom all beit not running the full VXR power but a map can sort that out just fine and with the unprated internals you can push the bounderies of mapping.
Not to mention you could probably run the engine with a standalone ECU with a custom made Loom?
