does it actually take 5 days to get your new tax disc? my disc runs out on friday and i forgot so i've just paid for it online. i need to drive on sunday but its illegal if my disc hasn't turned up.

did you print the page or get a email receipt sent? print it off and carry it with you....if you have paid they cant do anything im sure

Mine failed to turn up, and eventually they had to send out another one

i've got the email reciept. dont think it matters though as you have to display a valid disc.

ive been stopped before in same situation and i explained to the policeman and he was fine. they can check through the online database if you have tax or not so aslong as your not blagging them you should be fine

If you have paid just print off the reciept to say you have paid. Ive done it loads now.

Same happened with me, it never turned up. Lucky I have the corsa to run around in, because it took 2 weeks and still no tax for the A4. Had to end up going to the DVLA office and printing it out there.

Mine arived in 2 days 
Even if you have bought it and dont have it its an offence to drive around as it MUST be displayed on the window
