As the title says really, I started using credit cards over a year ago to pay for petrol.. later down the line i'm using it for pretty much all purchases and paying off the bill every month.
Last month someone charged £470 to my card for some website which I'm now in the process of sorting out with Lloyds TSB. Makes me glad my friend convinced me to get one in the end, not only have I probably built up a good credit rating but I've probably saved myself a little bit of hassle if that £470 went on my debit card!
So who of you have been hit by CC fraud?

Yes, my card was used by someone on PokerStars.com a few months ago. The bank realised it was suspicious and put a stop on my card automatically.
I had to sign a letter to say it wasn’t me who made the transactions and they gave me it all back 
Edit - The strange thing is, i hardly ever use my CC. I only use it for "big buy's" off the internet like my Tv, Car Insurance etc. I've no idea how they got my details.

Yes got hit with a 2k bill but goldfish called me to verify purchases
As a result they put a warning on the system as the transction was processed and they were waiting for the retailers to claim the money which they neever did
if they had of done I had to pay the bill and highlight what I had not bought - They would refund the purchases to me and pay inetrest i may have accumlated if I couldn't have paid the balance
TBH CC are the most secure way to pruchase as the company are liable to check fro fraud and you are protecte to a given extent

I think amazon was the place they got mine from as a few others got done at a simialr time and we had all used amazon

when i was younger i had my debit car cloned, and £250 taken out of my account, it royaly screwed me over

Their should really be a better system in place to prevent this, such as www.pinoptic.com

Shell Citi credit card, somebody took 140 quid worth of t-mobile top ups from it, told the credit card company the 1st couple of times, they done absolutely nothing, eventually had to phone up t-mobile myself with all the hassle attached and sort it out.
Citi cards are the worst customer service i've had with a credit card yet.

Nah, Im saying you should have to use the pin online. Pinoptic have produced a piece of software that would mean the pin input thing would appear on any checkout page online and you can enter the pin.

Twice its happened now...
Both on my debit card...one was foe £900 worth of stuff from PCworld online...the other was someone cloned my card and tried to withdraw £400 from an ATM in America.
The first was refunded to me. The second was not authorised as the bank noticed 2 hours earlier I had used my card in a Tesco in central London.
Good on them.
Happens to often for my liking now though.

Someone copied my Amex and tried to draw cash out with it. And a few years ago, someone took another of my cards for a shopping spree at the Armani Exchange. Refunded both times, Amex was the easiest to deal with, cancelled the card straightaway and I had a new one within 24 hours.

the simple solution is either retinal or fingerprint scanners to replace pin numbers. expensive to set up, but cant fake either. unless of course you carry the persons eye or finger round after you steal the CC. youd probably get unwanted attention though. should ban all other types, retailers must comply  - same with cash points

How can you implement that over the internet, in my case the only place my card had been used before some faggot topped his t-mobile up was on the internet, not a pin number in site.

tbh the company I suggested would solve the problem without the need for everyone having a finger print/retina scanner.

i had my card cloned, strange thing was it was used in the same town as i live, they went shopping in somerfield with it, turns out it was someone who works there, they were testing it by buying packets of fags.

Anybody want card protection or Identity protection ill do them a good deal , cover's card cloning, people using your name for credit, gives you access to your credit report and alerts you to any change on your credit report.
Can you tell i'm a good sale's person

Its a con..... I used to sell it... Half the stuff is coverd by the credit card anyways!

I had someone put over £700 on my credit card. Phoned the bank and they weren't interested as I couldn't remember my password. Eventually I got through to someone who was willing to stop the card. I then got a form to sign saying I hadn't made the transactions. I then closed my account with them.
