A guy posted the results of the draw at 10:30 this morning he says his mate got a phone call the other night with the draw and passed it on, chances on him prediciting it were 191/1 but when he tried to place the bet in williams hills they wouldn't let him.

It could be done, but Im not sure why they would, as surely they'd do it so it couldnt be two English teams in the final, where as with how it is the chances are fairly high.

Abramovich offered millions to give helsea best chance of getting to the final?

Stop being stupid, wouldn't you say ManUre and Barcelona had a pretty 'soft' draw.

Yeah, we play Roma, one of the top teams from a very very good league.
Chelsea get a easy team from a shit league, and granted, liverpool get a tough side in arsenal although i expect them to go trhough

Yeah, Roma that tough team you beat 8-3 on agg last season, and beat twice this season in the group stages...dead hard

I predicted the exact draw a day before the draw, that must make my psychic yeh?
I wrote it down at work when talking to a mate about it, my logic was that United always draw italian teams, so that was Roma. I said Chelsea would get the easy draw as they always do... so that was Fenerbache, then i said there was definately going to be a UK v UK team so that left Arsenal and Liverpool, and the other 2 were just left overs.
Shame i didn't make a thread on the net about it, i could be famous

Care to share wednesdays lotto balls?
On a serious note, im not sure about this. If you think, like adz says, he cud have come on here saying this wll be the draw as he'd had a tip off and we wuda thought it was a fix.
Only dodgy thing surrounding this imo is that bookies wouldnt take bets on the draw. Only time they tend to do this is if they thing something dodgy is going on. Same with that dog at cruffs iirc.

So you're saying that Fenerbahce is a more difficult tie that Roma?
Yes we beat them last year, from a one off performance that i doubt will ever be repeated. And have beat them once this season
Also, the two favourites for the comp will meet in the semi's if we get there so that's hardly easy

I don't buy that tbh.
Chelski if they get past Fenerbache have to play either Liverpool or Arsenal. Two teams I'd definitely want to avoid. And it's a 1 in 7 chance that they got Fenerbache.

There's a difference between that and the fact he predicted the draw and the home and away sides then proceeded to say 'this is what the outcome will be'. Far too much of a coincidence imo?

Or he could of been luckier than I was at predicting
Don't they have an external company/people who do the draw so i doubt its rigged? And the bookies might not of taken the bet as there might not of been a big enough market on it..
I'd say it was down to more luck/prediction than fixing

i havent seen none of this in the papers or news. this needs to be investigated
if this was done at Champions League level, could it have been done at Euro2008 level? if so, I DEMAND A RE-DRAW im not comfortable with italy being in the same group as the french and dutch

The odds in the paper I read were 105/1, so not that great tbh....even at 191/1. Ive won bets at greater odds than that before.
