I cant decide weather or not to do a C20XE conversion or buy a new car. The new car will be a 1.6 sport off a friend and only cost £800, but has got a couple of problems.

At the moment my car is a 1L 12v and ive had it nearly 3 years. I have always thought about doing a conversion but never jumped in and done it! And now ive been offered the sport its made me think about doing gthe conversion more.

so is it worth doing a conversion even with all the work you have to do, or should i just buy the sport?

Have you ever driven an XE engined corsa? my guess is you havent as there is no way I would choose a 1.6 over a 2.0.

Yeah the jump from a 1.0 to a 1.6 is massive, first time I drove my 1.6 I thought it was rapid

if the sport is a good one for £800 I would go for it. If you get bored xe it in the future

As a sport will make a better base car

The sport is a decent car, its just 1 or 2 small problems

its useing alot of fuel and the EML is on

other than that its a solid car, its had neary £800 spent on the engine not long back, its had oil steam seals etc replaced.

It's probably still cheaper than doing a valver.
