On Easter Monday, we drove down to Castle Combe to do a bit of race support for one of our customers who races in the Track and Race Cars Pre '93 Touring Car Championship.

The car was built for a now deceased Austrian Formula 1 driver while he was testing for BMW, by BMW's proper Motorsport Division, not the "M" road car team.

It's a 3.0 M3 with an M3 GTR cage, Bilstein coilovers with remote reservoirs, fast fill fuel tank, DTM airbox and loads of other funky bits.

Anyway, we spent the whole day at Combe helping him out showing him how to use his data logger and getting the car set up how he wanted it.

He qualified 4th, then went on to finish 3rd in the race, managing consistent 1:20 laps on a cold, wet day.

Here's some pics of the car, I'm sure you'll all appreciate how awesome a bit of kit it really is.

Here's his little hospitality suite

We've fitted the car with the following parts

Gotech Pro X ECU

Race Technologies Dash2 and DL1

We've also got his air jacks working and spent a lot of time setting the car up to perform as well as it can.

Here's some (blurry) action shots from Monday

All the bits are available from us.

Enjoy the pics, even though they don't convey the full awesomeness of the car. You really need to see it in the flesh to appreciate it fully.

Adam, you should comsider something like this IMO, the bloke bought this for a great price considering the spec, and it's ready to race/abuse without him spending any more money on it (even though it's better now he has, it was working quite well for him beforehand)

If I was looking at a proper car, I'd be looking at second hand cars like this one.

It's a quick fill 80 litre (I think) one Adam. The car came with a complete spares package, enough to build another car, give or take.

Bram, the standard M3 rims are very light already.
