is that possible for parking in the same place on separate occasions? In ipswich, people go to fitness first car park to have a chat and whatnot and admitedly, some people are generally yobbish but I just go to socialise and see mates as there's not actually many places to go. This morning, got a fine for £70 saying that I was parked there. Fair do's that's gay but one fine is bad enough. Then I ring them up and they say there's two more fines to come, can they legally do that? I mean £210 is more than a weeks wages, I'm only a second year apprentice, I have no money as it is

if they were all commited on different days/times, of course!

say you parked there, got fined, moved car, went back, got fined, moved car etc etc, would still be 3 fines.

if you were just parked there once and didn't move at all and still got 3 fines then that's not on.

I wouldn't pay it either btw, I have one from a similar place and they'll not be getting a penny.

lol ignore what it says, they cant send baliffs round, thats just to scare you into paying it.

If they did they would be breaking the law themselves

I used to park in the train station in neath, used to get tickets most days was over a grand fine i had

never payed it though, after id asked citizens advice about it they said to ignore the letters.

Mate, Iv had numerous letters from these clown saying we're sending bailiffs etc. Bailiffs must be stuck in traffic cos there still not here.

I never pay in a car parks, They give you a ticket then threaten you, thats as far as it goes. They cant even clamp it mate, Thats criminal damage etc.

Trust me , Do NOT worry about it, Just laugh.

If they carry on threatening to you with fines and all that (even though they can't) then simply reply to one of the letters threatening to take them to court for harassment (or similar). That should stop them.

They cant take your license for parking offences mate.

The only thing they can do is put the price of the fine up, Thats what i thought you was worried about.

Agreed, dont pay it. DOnt pay any unless it is the council in which the registered keeper has to by law say who was driving or face the penalty.

non council means different law (contractual) if they don't know who the contract was with then they can't do you for it. Only way i'd pay is if they had a time stamped picture or film evidence that prooved it was you who parked the car there. Hope that helps.

Does this go for retail parks too? I got a £60 fine for parking where I shouldn't for literally 2 minutes. New Mersey Retail in Speke, Liverpool for the people that know. I paid it as it said it doubled after 7 days

yes, anyone but the council. all the parking companies, european carparks bullshit, etc.
They all try and make the fines look really official though to scare you into paying.

So for example if I was to park illegally on my university campus and I got clamped is that legal?

Could I fight it? I assumed as its private ground that they had the right to do it

not sure on clamping, just know how to get out of tickets. Their was a wealth of info in regards to tickets so i'd have a look about clamping if you really really don't want to pay.

Yeah, Retails parks dont have access to the system to get your details so they cannot further it.

As it happens i have one sitting on my desk right now, one in my car glovebox and one behind my subwoofer in the boot for some reason lol.

Well my aunty is the manager of the Forge retial park parking and facilities and unless its a goverment based funded company such as pay and display areas in town centres then they have no right to charge you, This is why they are advised to have barriers that are maaned as opposed to giving peole the option to pay.
