right....
took stereo out of my old corsa and it was working fine....
put in gsi i have just bought and it keeps loosing all settings etc..
i have tried swapping round the red and yellow wires but when i do the stereo stays lite up all the time and wont turn off????
i know yellow should have constant live and red should be ignition but it just aint workin 
tried stereo in ma bros car and it works fine :S
what can be wrong

if you have got a multi meter actually test the red and yellow wires you are talking about and find out which one is the switched live and permanent. also when turning off the ignition make sure you take the key completly our of the barrel, my stereo will stay on until the key is removed, also i think the barrel pops out a bit when the key is removed.
