right i hope some1 can help me with this 1..
my c20xe engine is all ready to be fitted to the car.
i need to take the power stearing pump off as its not need so means i need a smaller belt but which 1 some 1 must of done this befor or is there another way
PLEASE HELP ME

you need to change the bottom pulley and the alternator pulley to a single v-belt type.take it you have got the multi-rib belt at the moment?

not sure mate ive got the belt that was on it. its not the engine with the double pulley though

yeh you have got the multi-rib type.you need to checnge the alternator pulley and the bottom pulley.

No the pump is off, all you need to do is meassure what you need and get a belt to fit

No the pump is off, all you need to do is meassure what you need and get a belt to fit
so i could pick 1 up from halfords yeah

Yea the way i measured was to get the old (long belt) and cut it then wrap ait round the alt pully and bottom pully then mark with tip ex (or similer) to the size you need, then took it to my local factors and got a belt the same size

No bother mate Much easyer than changing pullys etc plus looks better with a thicker belt

well i know i couldn't fit the multi rib belt on mine as the alternator pulley would touch or be verry close to the body.

It is very close on mine and yes mine touches, but not everyones does, guess it depends on what mounts you buy and whether or not you have a bent corsa or not .
