Seeing as i now have my new alloys, my SXI alloys will be winter alloys
So the question stands. What colour should they be refurbed in?

Keep them silver Marc, then they are ready to just chuck on the car if you ever come to sell them, I think they are too small to try to do stylishly.
Although (completely going the other way now ) if you do them anthracite, they'll be very good for winter wheels as you don't have to worry about washing them, and I mean at all!
Whatever you do, don't do them white, not for the winter

Thats fair enough. I was just thinking of chucking my old Sport rims (the same as your SXI's) back on for a bit of a giggle, but then remembered I have V6 brakes on the front now. Not a chance

I bet yours are pretty close now as well? I know my standard 256's were pretty close, not quite as tight as now, but pretty close!

Before (256 1.6 brakes under 14's):

Now (288 V6's under 15's):

You could choose to call them crazy

I personally wouldn't bother refurbing my winter wheels, but anthracite or black

Would it be easier to find a bit of the rim that isn't damaged, or is that impossible

As Tom said, it probably is easier to find an undamaged bit. I think the previous owner had a fetish for kerbs!
Scratches....Gouges....
It doesnt have a rim on the edge in some places

I actually like that Marc, but I think it looks like you have lots of power under the bonnet, which of course, that 1.2 has.
