Theres a for sale sign on my corsa and my neighbour has just been round and told us that when they were trying to sell a car, they had a for sale sign on and got a ticket for it. Apparently you're not allowed to do it anymore?

Sounds like a load of rubbish to me but apparently its to stop people who run businesses from their homes.

Does anyone know anything about this?

I once put a for sale sign in my car then a mate rang up on another phone to tell me he was interested in it, so I spent 4 hours cleaning it, just for him to ring up and say 'haha - got ya'

Looks like a Finchley thing lol, Yes you get a sticker put on your car if you live in Finchley and trying to sell your car no idea why I seen it a few times. If you go past Waitrose going to words Finchley central there used to be loads of car for sale now you don’t see any. I think it’s to do with being a trader and adverting on a public road.

Youve never been 'allowed' to advertise your car fr sale ona public road... has to be on your own propery but i would think this would only ever get enforced in very built up areas

Fight it! I got a ticket after 6pm when parking is free. I sent a letter to Barnet council saying what their staff had done with a picture of the nearest sign to where it was parked and the ticket off to them, and they said sorry and revoked ticket.

Nahh mate, I can park wher I want where I live

Round my grandparents they follow you into a parking space and start writing the ticket out.

Once, sat in a cafe in West London (where they live), Transit van complete with 3 builders parks up on double yellows. Pot Pot Pot writes ticket, leaves bike on pavement and moved on to book more cars. Builders go back outside, open back doors of van, put bike in and drive off :lol;

When you put a for sale sign up in a car you can put the car details and a contact number but you ae aparently nt allowed to put the price in the window.

I was told this by my mates mum whos is an officer and also wa told this bya neighbour who is a trader.
