We're looking for cars now.... but cant find a 32 that we like in our price range (upto 10k)...

So... we're considering the options open to us....

EVO's seem quite expensive to buy one we'd like (shape) - I.e 7 onwards, so over 10k anyway regardless of spec.

Impreza - We both prefer classics, and the RA's are damn cheap and 'basic'.

ach..... patiance isnt one of my strong points!

I bought the last 32 unseen when i was in Kuala Lumper in 2006

Been speaking to folk with 32's for sale.... ones we like are just out of budget, sold, etc....

baaahumbug

I think Impreza parts are more readily available and cheaper..... maybe, i dunno. I know cages etc are better catered for.

Mark - just a for a trackcar really....

Each has different +ve's and -ve's

Scoob - weight, cheaper to buy, more options
Skyline - know what we'd want to do, compared to impreza

Scoob probably easier to find but do you not still have Skyline parts that you were yet to fit? They'll need selling if you don't get another one.

Also long term is the Scoob the right car? ie. is the Skyline an 'upgrade' of sorts in terms of its competitiveness when you get more seriously in to it?

who knows...

We'd be looking at spending around 9-10k
Can either get a decent spec R32 (or can we?!?) or there are currently two tracked prepped imprezas on piston heads for £5k each......one each maybe

we've have an Impreza before.... and liked it....

We didnt sped much time with it on track so cant really comment 100% on how it handles.

I have a soft spot for the R32, but i'm just not sure of whether we are being blinkered by the old one, and the fast we have some parts lying around.

Impreza's arent a worse track car in my opinion..... maybe better... just not sure. Cheaper anyway.

It sounds like the imprezza may be the way to go, is there anyone you can chat to who has owned a decently track specd version fo both?!

For the money and level you are trying to compete at (and the fact you want to compete sonner rather than later) a scooby seems more sensible imo.

I think it could be quite fun having two as well....eventually we can keep one each and see who can do better
not that we're competitive or anything

I agree on price side of things.... but but but but

If we find a skyline for 10k (heaps for sale for 6k odd but just finding the right one ) it will be ready for track in no time. A lot of the cheaper spec'd cars tend to be wannabe drag cars though... Big laggy single turbo's which aren't really useful to us...

If we buy an Impreza we have to look for preprepped cars, and being honest I'm no as sure on Impreza engines/specs and i am on GTR's now.

I've been in touch with a guy selling two Imprezas.... see what he wants for the two of them.

Best case would be an RA or R with a 500bhp engine but its then the same story of finding that in budget....

Fee - get searching.

Well its standard bar the exhaust and suspension, but as you know had a £3k full rebuild and a new clutch at API Impreza 6k miles ago, with a 3k miles oil change by them since.
I've no idea what they go for, but ideally i'd want £4k for it, simply because the engine is almost new and it's what I would need to get my next car.
As stated you would get an Autobahn88 FMIC & fitting kit with it, which you can fit or sell on depending if it's good enough for what you want it to do.
