had one in today because of a suspension problem, droplinks snapped due to casting defects in the metal and nearly ALL front suspension bolts are finger tight
vauxhalls answer?
"drive the car to us and we will inpect it" I dont fancy driving it.

Why did he not take it to vaux in the 1st place?
Surely under warranty?

I refused to let the car go from my workshop so vauxhall offered to send the AA over to collect the car and said they would tow it back to them. I waited with the car holding up the ramps all day for a call back, ended up buying new droplinks and getting them fitted, they are yet to call back........
wonder how long it will take them?

But why did he not take it straight to vaux for the suspension problem?
That was typed before you replied.
Still sounds fishy to me.
Why pay you when it's under warranty.

Would cost money with you so doesn't make any sense

Vauxhall would crumble as soon as you said that had happened to a car with under 300 miles.
Just read the post properly and seen vauxhall have offered to collect the car, yet you still fitted new parts, that sounds even dodgier to me, I would have left it for vauxhall to see it exactly the way it was

So why should D owners be afraid? Its clearly an issue when they finished this one at the factory.
If i had a car under warranty i would drive it to Vauxhall , Any other damage caused would be there fault anyway.

Exactly. Someone trying to make quick money if you ask me.
If its only a month or so old, Why do you have to fit the parts?

I've had nothing but good dealings with Vauxhall and my Vauxhall has never let me down once in 4 years+ from brand new. Bulbs, tyres, brake pads and the usual servicing have been my only expense

had one today done 100 miles, door hinge pins loose. was one of the cars we sold so came back to us not vauxhall.
also had a few d's where these loads of play in the front strut tops. vauxhall told us yea theyre meant to have a bit but we found it was mainly due to the top nut not being tight

Built on the same platform as mine, Punto`s rear suspension is a huge weakpoint, mines ok apart from a squeek thats is quickly becoming unbearable, should be diagnosed tonight though, by my self

He noticed something was wrong and he lives about 30 second drive from the unit. brought it in to put it on the ramps and have a look as the vaux dealer is a good 15 mile drive away, find broken droplinks and loose boilts everywhere and advise he gets the car to vauxhall.
vauxhall refuse to collect the car and tell him to drive it, which I advise him not to do so.
Vauxhall say they will call back and arrange a collection with the AA. they do this 5 hours later and want £120 to collect it, want the customer to pay upfront, he refuses and pays me £20 to supply and fit 2 new droplinks.
