i paid about £35 for a 1.6 backbox new. (pattern part tho - not vaux)

Well I've had it checked out and the exhaust is fine.
The car makes a humming noise from the rear, that rises and falls with speed/revs.
The lad seemed to think it was the water pump but I've a feeling the wheel bearings are going.
Anyone know how much I should expect to pay if they are going? Are we talking a couple hundred quid or more?

if its the rears going then about £8 a side with some diy fitting. fronts more as they need dismantling and pressing out and new ones in.
