Just bought a couple of suitcases from makro, bought various other bits at the same time including a razor, razor had a tag on the back that the woman said she couldn't get off and if the alarms went off that's what was causing it.
Walk out the shop, alarm goes off, flash the razor to the security guard, off we tottled.
Get home open the cases, to find
Thought I'd have a go with a magnet but that doesn't work.
Any shoplifters in here have any easy ways of getting them off before I get the dremel out

I'd go back to the shop and told the silly bugger to try again...
save putting a bigger hole in the suitcase.

you need a strong magnet to get it off properly. but as above use wire cutters.

tomato ketchup works well, smear it on the tag and suit case where it connects, it devalves the tag and it just drops off.

I used to work in retail and this was the method we used to use.

It's not a stick on tag, it's like above and there's a metal pin in the back.
Don't know where i'd put wire cutters on
The magnet I used was the strongest one I have, one that comes in the bottom of taxi aerials etc.

I'm interested in this ketchup one?
What exactly does it desolve?
It's metal and plastic by the looks of it but I don't know whats inside.

Go back to shop, launch it across the counter and shout at them for wasting your time. Then ask nicely for it to be taken off

I would, shop is a 40 mile round trip though and i'd rather get the dremel out than drive another 40 miles today.

As Aaron says, it's a well known trade secret, but not widely known for security reasons. Basically just smear the ketchup over the tag, and where the tag goes into the case (you can wash it off the case later) and leave it for about 5-10 mins (maybe more depending on how tight the tag is) and it'll just pop off when you go to remove it.

I honestly thought it was a wind up when i was first told, like "go for a long stand etc".
It honestly works

Probably best to post up some pics of the sauce on the tag, so that Aaron can check you applied it correctly. It may not work if it's not on there correct, like too much sauce probably fucks it up.

SCAM
I could change wiki to say bull spunk removes it then he'd have to explain to the local farmer why he's wanking off his prized bull at lunchtime on a Tuesday.

If he was a real man he'd be going on his holidays with a pole and a neckerchief tied at the end like the littlest hobo.

a real man would cook up some burgers and chips, spray some ketchup on the tags, some ketchup on his plate. Take pics, upload pics and enjoy eating his burger and chips while he waits for it to take affect.
