 got in from being out an its got 3 lights , it was just flashing when i walked in my room, trying the towel trick but doubt it will work
got it bought for me from GAME in 08/06 so 1 year and 8months
anything they will do?

Do not do the towel trick, that actually will make it worse by over heating it. You can phone MS as you get 3 year warranty or fix yourself with some arctic 5 thermal paste.

Towel Trick:
Step 1, Wrap xbox360 in a towel
Step 2, Find a 3 storey builiding - Go to top floor
Step 3, Throw xbox360 in its towel from nearest window
Step 4, Run to bottom find xbox
Step 5, If xbox is in many parts contiune, if not return to step 1
Step 6, Travel to Game and buy a ps3
Step 7, Enjoy a fault free console
This should cure the problem!

yes but if we are honest ps3 online gaming is rather crap!
im secure in the comfort that if it happens i can return it and get it sorted hassle i know but worth it for what xbox brings and i have a wii to pass the time anyway

I did the towel trick a few times on my last 360 and it worked fine for a few extra days, so it DOESN'T make it worse!

Home should be out sometime this year also 
Ps3 online seems ok to me, It plays games online....and its free.
There with be updates for in game chat.
Send it back to ms and get them to fix it for you.

Does, the reason it over heats it because the thermal paste has dried, the towel trick heats it up so it melts again which in the process overheats the chips and will run them and then not thermal paste will fix it.

right ont he website it syas im out of warranty cos its 3 years old..... they want me to pay £50, thought they extended the warranty cos it was a known fault
