Got trusty old drums on the back of my sport .......and as i have said after some track action the pads over heated like feck!

Ive found uprated pads for the front, but does anyone know if you can get uprated rear shoes?

just make the rears adjustable via a bias valve, then use minimal rear braking on trackdays.

i dont know of many people with major overheating problems (from the rear brakes) on trackdays..

there may be an underlying problem;
*overadjusted
*seized cylinder

as far as i know, there isnt any performance shoes available..

I were running steelis though with lack of ventilation which i am never doing again as they were very close to the brakes (only just fitting over the front ones). But yer you could be right, might of over adjusted them becuase they were only put on about 4 weeks before the event and probably coverd 800 mile

You can get uprated shoes for the back. You can even get ventilated drums too. No idea if they are worth it, but you use minimal ammounts of rear braking anyway. The bias is set mostly to the front, and anyway, a bit of smoke coming out of the rear drums doesn't mean they have over heated.

On a Corsa, rear discs aren't needed at all imo. Unless it is running ridiculous power, it is just overkill.

cool, you got any links?

They werent smoking, its just nothing happens when you brake (even now after they cooled down), and it makes an horrific grinding noise like metal on metal. Changed the fronts and they were virtually a new pad but just over heated and gone shinny and solid

It's not your rear brakes that are the problem then. You glazed over your front brakes which means you need to uprate those. For track use you need some high temp pads and some grooved and cross drilled disks. You'll find that track pads will not work as well for normal road use though, they need to be heated up first. You'll also find that as you get more skilled on the track you'll be on the brakes less which will help

Yes i no but its happend to the rear aswell (glazed them all i mean). Ive already solved the front because its less fidly than the rear, but i were wondering how to solve rear.

ever driven a rear disc'd corsa, which has been set up properly?

IMO you can never had to much braking power, that doesnt mean get 938pots on the front and 200pots on the rear.
