No should have bought a ps3 comments please.
Im getting a new pc this week it has an HD monitor, with hd cable slots, am i right in thinking if i get the HDMI cable for the sexbox can i just lug it in and play my games in HD??
Also where can i get the cable from? I have 2 of the component ones currently but want the proper 1080 job.

Take it you have one of the more recent xbox's with hdmi?
If both have hdmi then yes you can just plug and play.

They come with a component cable capable of HD, but not an HDMI one (this only comes with the elite)
I need the calbe and want to know weather i just plug and play

He's asking if your xbox has a HDMI port. Newer one's do, they just don't come with the lead like the elite.

Well, if it doesn't then you can't. Simple as.
If it does, then you need to check your monitor/tv has a HDMI port.
If both have HDMI ports, then just buy the cable and you're away. The difference is marginal.

Well i duno if it is a firewire port cant remember what type of connection it has now i havent used mine in ages but you can use it to connect a sound system such as the Pioneer HTP-GS1

hmmm ok the sound bit is confusing me!
Brett, i have a 50" 1080p plasma and the difference is HUGE over my 100hz tube tv, the detail is astounding totally different.
The monitor deffo has HDMI ports, so what the heck is firewire and how do i play sound

Wrong end of the stick or what... You're the one who's "confused" mate.
The difference between using the normal cables and a HDMI lead is marginal. Not the difference between HD and a normal TV. I'm not a fuckin brain-dead stupid ass I've had a 360 with HD for ages, it's not new to me
