Right i need some help here. I have no idea when it comes to making websites. I made one using html last year but i've forgot all of it now and now we have to include css or something.

Im trying to keep it pretty basic. What i want is all my work on one page and you horizontally scroll across like this website:

http://bluevertigo.com.ar/bluevertigo.htm

All i have atm is a design i have done in illustrator.

How do i go about all the coding bollocks and slicing? If anyone could do a step by step thing that would be great although it would have to be very simple to follow as im pretty crap at all of this.

Thanks

Ps if anyone wants to code it all up for me im willing to pay a little something I have all the design work done and pics ready just need to make it all work

Sorry if i havent been in depth enough with what i need but as i say im useless when it comes to all this stuff!

Firstly i would say your logo is too busy, as good as it is, its much to busy, I had issues reading it and that is not good to start with from a design point of view.

what aout scrapping it all ad going with flash?

www.ICYpix.co.uk i think it is, Very nice website and purely for showing great pictures.

Slicng is just about cutting you images up into nice/smaller images, This can be basically done in Dreamweaver to give you an example of what can be done.

Also, although dreamwever is sometime classed as "Noob" it will giv you all the coding required that you can hack apart to adapt certain bits your not to happy with.

That flash looks even worse than scrolling sideways.

Looks like an outdated site except in flash.

That and there is no need to use it. You could do all that in Javascript.

I still hate flash, it's carried on from 56k days but still think it's a waste of time.

Same here

The scars of waiting for a website to load for 10mins that had flash on it during my 28k days are deep.

Its a tiny flash file, its hosted on a free server as well. loads within a split second for me, maybe its in my cache already.

No need for that to be flash whatsoever tbh fella.

A nice 5 page XHTML/CSS site with lightbox for your photos would be a much better job.

If you're going to keep the flash thing, then I'd suggest putting a pre-loader on as well.

Im sure you've heard all this before but that just looks likie a floating frame type design and is fairly easy to do.

How do you get back into the portfolio from selecting a picture without pressing portfolio again?

yeah I agree to be honest. spoke to my tutor about it the other day. I'd just learned flash recently and figured I'd give it a shot.
