Garageband is a great piece of music software that comes free with Apple Mac OS X 10.5.
If you run windows, you could download FruityLoops. I have never used it but I presume it is capable of speeding up tracks.

I've always used Audacity. Can adjust either the speed or the tempo, so it doesnt have to make it higher pitched.
