Following on from Paul's thread, and something I've started to realise an awful lot lately.

I think people who don't actually own a car or drive slam car doors, whereas car drivers just shut them normally.

went out in my mates defender county last night.

you actually have to slam the doors to make them shut halfway, then lock them to stop them flying open, its a death trap.

Probably due to years of offroading in the dales where you're not meant to, and going down craggs and up peaks

It hath servethed its purpose, MOT tomorrow....hmmmm

A girl that I used to give a lift to work would get in every morning, slam the door then say 'oh sorry, I keep forgetting the doors are funny in this'. What's funny about em exactly? Mum always does the same too, although she drives, always apologises after too

I usually let the door close by its own weight. You have to slam the boot of my dads fabia VRs though or it wont shut

i find they either slam the guts out of the door, OR they do TOTALLY the opposite, and it only just clicks into the first lock bit, and then they have to open n try again, which usually results in slam time

thing i find funny is... its ONLY a car door n you cant shut it properly?

Worst is people with new cars, who get in and out of my car and think because its old the doors will take more effort to close than their newer cars!

Leave the fucking door on!!!

Need to give my drivers door quite a push or lift it up and do it gently as its dropped slightly. Generally people are ok with my doors though

i only started noticing it since i got the vx, tiny pillarless really light door. I have cringed a number of times and probably come across a bit of a twat a few times as well, literally a feint breeze is enough to shut the door

i quite often shut a door too hard if i forget the window is open.

Some cars i've owned have pretty stiff hinges and if you try and shut it at normal force, the door stays open a few inches.
