F20 box doesnt use an electrical sender? You need the cog to electrical sender to make it work.

nah i think he means the f20 doesnt have the cog inside it for the sensor you got to then read off of it

Gawd as confusing as u guys have made it lol.
The 1.0 12v gearbox has a magnetic speed sensor. In the gearbox there is a phonic wheel which creates a magnetic force which is then picked up by the sensor and converted to an electrical signal.
The F20 box has a cog inside the gearbox and was designed to be used with a mechanical driven speedometer (no sensors, just a cable from the gearbox to the dash clocks).
However. to get around the fact that you have electrical clocks and a mechanical speed output configuration, you need the sensor that was fitted to late 1.2 8v diesel cars that had the cog in the box, however the clocks were electronic.
The part number I gave you is the transponder that has a cog on the bottom where it sits in the gearbox, which then converts it to an electrical signal that your clocks can work with.

Having read this thread last night I went to the scrappers near me to look for said sender.
I couldn't find one anywhere, However my mate spotted an S reg Daewoo Lanos which looked to have an older 8v GM style engine. Upon nosing around the gearbox we spotted the cog style drive with an electronic sender for the clocks.
I've bought it as it was cheap in the hope the Daewoo and Vauxhall clocks use the same pulse.
Is there anyway of finding out what pulse the 2 cars use and if this Daewoo sender will work
