before anyone starts i know my car aint work much having no service history and a high mileage
a guy has offered me a part exchange for his punto gt turbo, it needs 2 tyres for its mot and thats it well he promised thats all he said

enclosed induction kit with intake pipe at fog hole
vectra gsi style front bumper with mesh
m3 style skirts (i think)
unknown rear style bumper
powerflow cat back dual exit exhaust system
astra sport alloys
lowered 50mm at back none at front
tinted lights
limo tint on back windows (shit job)
silver dash pieces
green led's
enginewise its fine, still pulls like a rocket hahaha (joke)
tax n tested till september this year
bad points
130k on the clock but 40k of that was motorway from precious owner
a few scratches as its 14 year old
what do you think i should offer him as his punto is not worth £850 with no mot
heres his punto stats
Fiat Punto GT Turbo 1.4 8v, broom yellow, its a GT2 model so has nicest interior, it has a GT1 conversion engine and wiring loom fitted which is qucikest one which is 138bhp standard had head gasket and cambelt changed while it was out,it has veneir pulleys and high lift cams, it has all important red key and blue one for central locking and alarm, comes with all GT2 parts engine, wiring etc. it also has fitted angel eyes, twin upswept dtm centre exit exhaust, scorpian decat, it has FSH untill 2 years ago. its has got half mirror/half blue window tints all round, all electrics work. cas boost gauge with pillar pod and a baileys dump valve month old cost £130. it has been lowered 60mm all round. only bad points are dent in passenger wing, but have a new one which will come with it.

Ive no idea what either is worth but surely if all it needs for an mot is 2 tyres he'd do that & sell for more
Whats the insurance in the GTT, have you checked you can get insured on that car with the mods?

Id agree mk1 punto's are shit, but thats only from driving a base model my sister owned & all the problems hers had, id imagine a GTT to be quick & shit.
That said theres been plenty people on here had them & said good things about them.
I just think buying one with no mot is a bit delving into the unknown.

Has he had it in for an MOT, did it fail? Can he show you the test slip saying *needs 2 tyres* ???
If not walk away, at a minimum offer to pay the £40 to have it tested & if it comes up ok do the deal & you'll get 10 days to get some new rubber fitter & a free retest.
