Anyone got one?
Are they any good?! Thinking about getting one when I'm over in US next week!
I have a nano which always sits in the car, just fancy something else to take about, surf the web on and possibly put on a dock in my bedroom get rid of the CD player!
Just wondering is it worth buying a touch over another 8gb Nano say!

I've got an iPhone. I love the iPod on it. My friend has a touch and it's a wicked little toy. Having never been convinced by iPods before these products have really swayed me over. They are unbelievably usefull as they have the web browser and wifi technology in them which is great when you are abroad and you need to send a quick e-mail or check your bank statement

Ive a Touch.
Its fairly large but is thin so if easily carried about in your pocket. The features on it are great, and it all works really well - browsing on it is great and the various music playback (cover flow, etc.) options are also good.

Yep. You'd be better off buying an iPhone for £169, though.

Ive got a 16gb one i bought just after christmas and i still havent filled it!
handy for in the car.. can slyly check facebook when in work..
only thing is the chrome on the back scratches so easilly
also mines starting to "crash" you can start playing a song and occasionally itll quit the music bit.. however a quick restart fixes it

Got one last week in Florida, amazing lil gadget!
Great for e-mail/net on the go which is main reason I wanted one!
Scratched the back already, its like the darn 1st gen nano's dust scratches them, so just got a silicone case from eBay!
Won't be going in the car, nano can stop in there and touch can do for in the house or going away!
Well worth the cash IMO

Thats why I made it a must to sort it all as I put it into iTunes, so didnt have to go through 1000's of tracks at some point

iTunes will find album covers for you
I love the Touch, especially with all the extra apps you can get from Installer.

If you can't find album art, just use Google Images and then edit it by right clicking the songs and choosing the album art directly.

I'll prolly fuck it up - how do you add the art directly as they seem to be embedded into the mp3's
I've been trying yo do it with Winamp but it seems you have to do each track individually rather than select a whole album and assign the same picture to them - with getting on for 4000 songs on my HDD I can see it taking a facking long time!

iTunes.
Right click the song, go to properties and then look for album art. You can select multiple by holding CTRL and clicking.

Cheers Luke, got to arrange all the id3 tages properly for them now, using Fixtunes has worked for a lot of them but it makes a mess of compilation / greatest hits albums as it just get's the original album they came from - tres annoying.
Will look into it more when I have my days off work

Options -> Get Album ArtWork in iTunes, and it does it using the album title so works fine for Greatest Hits.
Select a full album and right click -> Get Info and you can apply the artwork to all songs in 1 so. And album titles, etc.

I hate iTunes.
It keeps making duplicates of songs that I only have 1 of.
The names are all shit.
No album art.

People who think Itunes is shit, its usually user error. Its always been fine for me, I have all titles, all artwork. Everything in order. Easy peasy.

Exactly. And if it's set to keep the library organised it sorts the folder and file names out too.
iTunes is the best for keeping it all organised, IMO.
