I'm sure this has been covered aload of times, but i've never took the time to read in to it.
Basically, I'm finding out on behalf of a friend.
He wants to know, if you would need to mix it with regular diesel?
And, obviously, you legally have to declair that you're running your car on veggie oil. So, how much tax would the goverment slap on for doing so?
Thanks (not sure if this should be in OD)

you can run it on cars with a mechanical fuel fump (mainly older car). you dont pay on on the first £3500 worth I think it is. No-one declares the tax on it tho, how can they prove how much you have used?

Ive been offered red of a family friend for "non road use". £10 for 35 litres.
Veggie oil can only be used in older cars with mechanical fuel pumps.

I run my 306 on red, bio and veggie all work as good as another.
veggie is better mixed althought never missed a beat running straight
red is tax dodging but is the same as white
bio is good straight maybe 2 heats needed at time

i got checked in the work van in a place near buxton they were pulling all cars and vans over.
it is the ministry that checks it,
they put a clear pipe into the tank then squeezs a ball to suck up the diesel to see what colour it is...
apart from that ive never seen any1 get checked before

Use something like a 60/40 mix. Basically more derv than oil in winter, can up the veggie oil in summer. iirc.
Although vieegie oil has gone up in price a lot in recent times, so it's only sort of 5p cheaper a litre, or something daft.
