All I want is to put 3gb of images on a dvd... can't be too hard can it?
1. Vista is wank.
2. My writer must have the speed of 1x!
I've now resorted to putting the images on seperate cd's. 9 hours remaining (atm) for 606mb of images! Is there any other (free) online writing software, as i genuinly think vista has a bug or something as it's taking the piss. I need to get the images onto disc as a local paper has asked for them to use one in the weekly paper.
Yesterday I left it going from 9am, till 1am, and it had finished, but frozen, took the disc out, put it back in and it was blank.
Any help pleasssssse?

Search a well known torrent site and use a up to date malware scanner such as AVG 8.0 (free) with a updated definition list. You will not have a problem.
PS - make sure Vista has been patched up if you think its a bug.

Just going to download the trial, should be able to do it from that for now. They need the cd / dvd by midday so it's rather annoying that the laptop seems to be shit when I need it to work

Do you use it with XP or Vista?
I'm tempted to swap these writer's over, that may be the problem

XP with no issues. My m8's SATA writer had nothing with problems with Vista. Did not like it. Could be the writer on it's way out though. When they start to show hours remaining etc.. could either be the media or the drive itself.

It's a hp pav laptop, probably about 3 months old, so I doubt it's the writer tbh

Why not?, my m8's Sony Vaio burner packed in after 3 weeks and after only a handful of burns.

Might be, but it's never actually been used, so I doubt it. I'll change it later anyway to double check

HP will be good quality as long as its not one of them sub £500 laptops, which are glorified DVD players from an engineers point of view
