the oil light in my 1.2 16v corsa B has started to come on sometimes when my engine has warmed up to about half way on the gauge, it onlyh comes on when the revs drop below 1000 i.e when im idling as soon as i set off it goes off. I have checked the oil with the dipstick and there is plenty in. Anyone know whats up with it?

My oil light played up when I bought my car, mine turned out to be the oil pressure switch.
Dont think its an expensive job or anything.
Just so long as when the light comes on, the car doesnt sound like a bag of spanners, and runs alright, then its more than likely the switch.

ye when it does come on the car doesn't sound any differing its just the light that flickers when im idling, as soon as i press the accelerator it goes off, but this only happens when the engine has warmned up and been driving for about 20 mins.

yeah, mine used to be like that, just seemed to come on whenever it felt like it tbh. lol.
yeah, to me, it sounds like the oil pressure switch need replacing. My car was still under the garages warranty when I had it done, so no info on the price or anything sorry.

ye ill look in to it. Just been out in it and it didn't do it at all. It only seems to do it when the engine is fairly warm (about half way on temperature gauge) but if it lower than that it doen't do it at all.

you could just try an oil change maybe, but if i was you, would get switch and oil done, no worries then.
