Pair of tights over them 
Done it on my old Civic cos there wasnt much choice on rear lights.
Looked alright i thought.
With lights on

get a can of tailight tint spray from halfords or ebay

Tights are very cheap looking IMO. They do the job from a distance, but as soon as you get close, they look very tacky.
