are these any good what they like with tuning do they go well any problems i hear some peopple say there a bit quicker the a fiesta st???
what to look out for anyone got one running cost?

Depends which SRI mate

There are:

1.4l 16v Petrol
1.8l 16v Petrol
or 1.7l 16v CDTI

Plus pre-2004 1.4 SRi's had different engines iirc.

The 1.8 16v is about as quick as a Fiesta ST. No quicker though. Nice cars, can get them tuned up easily enough to 190bhp if you have the money.

I'd be dubious as to a 1.8 SRi being quicker. The ST is 150bhp, and 1.8 SRi only about 125bhp (I know other things matter).

Speak to someone like Stavs, who has/had 1.8 SRi. I hear people say they are just a bit boring.

Boring as in just a bit boring. Not as lively as you'd think a 1.8 in a little Corsa would be.

SRi's are nice to look at... 1.8's seem to be rated more than 1.4 one's

but just in general 1.8 is always going to be that bit quicker and nicer to drive...

I'd be happy with a 1.4

...tbh I think vauxhall played a good card there because young drivers can have the SRi trim (interior etc) without having to insure a filthy great big engine

Isn't that what SXi was, to a certain extent

Apparently, the 1.4 SRi isn't a great deal better than the 1.2, and has worse fuel economy.

Diesel would be my choice.

i wanted one..but my budget wouldnt stretch that far at the time or i couldnt se any with the lower mileage like mine.....plus they dont do pink ones ! my car is slowly turning into one anyway... haha

Doesn't take much to turn a 1.2 SXi into an SRi rep imho. Wheels and mirrors.

Phi - I know yours is an Elegance, just making the point that the 1.4 SRi isn't much different, even to day a 1.4 SXi.

No, I was just pointing out that if you're going to go for an SRi Corsa, you may as well go for the proper one, or not at all.

i.e. save money and buy a 1.4 SXi instead of SRi.

The 1.4 engine is belt driven, which in my experience would be FAR better...had nothing but trouble with the chain driven 1.2 IMO

Dieslel would be my choice now too

SRI has different interior doesnt it? air con? different suspension (maybe only the 1.8??)

any model can have air con.... mine has it.
