This is getting ridiculous now. I didn't pay it, even though it's my local station and I've been using it since 2003. Had to drive 5 miles up the road to fill up the car for £1.26.9 - Wish I hadn't of bothered.

That is the problem, they need to be shown that we pay their wages and this is a democracy, even if the next lot aren't any better it'll show them they can't continue doing it.

Well to be honest, I havn't REALLY got anything against labour... But they're really adament about keeping Gordan Brown as their representitive and no-one likes him. I never realised how much I liked Tony Blair untill Gordon Brown took over.
Either way the point is, I remember 6-7 months ago, people complaining about paying 93p a litre for petrol... Seems like every other day, the price is going up a few pennys.

I agree.
118p/litre and 47mpg
On another note, if you filled up 50 litres, you only saved about £2 by travelling 5 miles further.

The rate of duty isn't going up. It's the cost of oil which is, I think. The government is just to blame, because they haven't lowered the rate of duty to help people.

47mpg doing what? Idling? Joking mate... I get around 50-60mpg on the motorway, and since I have to commute 40 miles to work, it's more beneficial to own a diesel.

bet my diesel does better than your petrol, as the 30% better economy still works out that your saving, despite extra fuel costs

Very true mate. This whole percentage for duty is bollocks. They should have a set rate of tax per litre... Say 35p... Would make it better for everyone.
Well except those money hungry assholes, with thier 22k allowances and other Daily Star informed bullshit

47mpg is actually pretty good. I did get 51mpg on the last fill up, but I drove like a granny for 370 miles
jr - I don't doubt that it does, hence why I want one

You have to drive like a granny to get 47mpg...
I just drive normally, and get 60mpg. I wonder what I would get if i drove it like a granny, motorway, 1.5k revs, no boost etc.

No, granny to get 51mpg, not so much granny like 47mpg.
Seriously, try it. Never really take your car over say 3krpm (unless at a junction or something) for this tank of fuel. Then work out the mpg for what you've used next time you fill up. MPG

Not just the revs though mate, the further you push the accelerator pedal down, the more fuel pours into the engine. The onboard computer told me I was getting 200mpg while lightly resting my foot on the accelerator pedal on the motorway... 70-odd miles per hour Didn't last long though, average about 60-90mpg depending on the road gradient etc.

In a 12v, it's all about the revs
You obviously get better MPG with less gear changes, braking less etc. I bet my 12v would get quite high MPG if I sat at 60mph on a motorway and used a whole tank of fuel.
You can tell the in car MPG are slightlu innaccurate because when idling it doesn't say 0mpg
