Anyone know the differences between

X20 DTL
Y20 DTL

and

X20 DTH
Y20 DTH

DTL - low output
DTH - high output..


going by vaux's usually engine code's..

D - diesel
T - Turbo
L - out output/supercharging
H - high output/supercharging


may be wrong though...

Ok then, following on, anyone know (without looking at the engine plate because i cant find it :rolleyes how I can find out which one i have?

Also, X and Y, difference there?

Thanks Thinking i have the DTL, as it does shift when you put your foot down, although I reckon there is more to be had from getting the DTH parts together. I couldnt give a rats ass about the emissions though

Get a pic up. The difference it the air hose coming from the turbo. The DTH has an intercooler. So the hose goes round the engine down the right hand side as you look at the engine bay from the front.

The DTL air hose goes straight into the engine. Have a look in my garage at my engine pic for my Astra.

Does the L (low output) mean that the engine's been tuned to give more torque than a normal one, but a bit less horsepower, or am I making stuff up

Ill attempt to get a pic later

Pow - £145 tax While its a 2001 its an 'old' 2001 on a Y so the new VED tax bands dont apply hehe (afaik )

Also Steve, I was going on about the EML a little while ago, had the glow plugs checked in my service, all 4 were burnt out Its gone off for now

I think they might because it starts after March 2001, which is probably when Y reg started because before then was X.

And, if Im correct in remembering (cant be arsed to go upstairs and dig out the V5) the emissions is 142g and so the new tax bands would probly beneft me anyway
