the headgasket has gone and my dad is going to do it for me but although he was trainned as a mechanic he hasn't been one for 30 years so he knows 8v's not 16v is their any problems that he will come across thats alot different to 8v's?

When I thought mine had gone, the mechanic said "it isn't a 16v engine is it?" I said "no, 12v cam chain engine" and he said "pheww".

The timing marks (little dashes on the teeth) on the cam pulleys should face each other before and after. as per this pic:

cheers so thats the only difference between doing a headgasket on the 8v and 16v?
