i jus fitted a new cd player i found lyin about the garage and it looks well but eveytime i take the keys out of the ignition it looses all the stations iv preset any ideas what iv done wrong??lol its a Sony CDX-R3350

you need to have a power supply to the head unit all the time, you just need to swap the iso wiring around

FAQ

If your radio stations do not save when you have installed your after market head unit, you need to swap over the Red and Yellow wires.

Yep on the back there should be a thick red and thick yellow wire which mates up to the same on the car loom.Just swap them around.So the red is with the yellow and vice versa.

Need to swap the red and yellow wires to the back of your headunit mate
(red to yellow - yellow to red)

emmmm....lol im not so good with electrics, there were two big black sockets coming outa the back and then i plugged in a smaller thin black lead that came from the car, where does the constant power supply come from then??

Yep, i had to do this in my GTI... its very simpel mate... as said, swap the red and yellow wires around

i have a problem with my headunit, when i take demo off and turn the car off i lose the settings but not the radio stations

yeh i had them on mine takes 2mins to swap, no need to cut any wires

i found the wee red and yellow wires at the back of the head unit....but they too join into a black connector with all the other coloured wires....hw do i gt the yellow&red out to swop them??

i doubt you'll be able to remove them from the iso block without breaking it.

you'll have to cut the wires to swap them.
the right way to rejoin them is to solder them and heat shrink them.
the lazy way is to twist them together and wrap in insulation tape or to use a choccy block.
